The Pre-Construction Project Engineer will primarily be responsible for setting up and maintain preconstruction project records, subcontractor solicitations, scope estimating and analyzing assigned projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for setting up the estimate, estimate binder \/ digital file, invited subcontractors list, and solicitation invitation for preconstruction pursuits<\/li>\n<li>Identify and solicit the \u201cright\u201d subcontractors for various preconstruction pursuits and insure adequate subcontractor coverage in each scope of work.<\/li>\n<li>Accumulate the necessary information to qualify subcontractors, through solicitation of potential suitors, to ensure the proper fit for preconstruction pursuits.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate \u201cpersistently\u201d with subcontractors regarding involvement \/ interest in preconstruction pursuits and diligently follow up to review project scope, pricing prior to bid day, and ensure submission of required administrative documents occurs in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Review design documents and complete an accurate quantity take-off for assigned scopes of work<\/li>\n<li>Review design documents and identify scope items with cost implications<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with other team members to ensure that \u201cfringe\u201d scopes of work are identified and properly included in estimates<\/li>\n<li>Assist with conceptual estimating of preliminary preconstruction pursuits<\/li>\n<li>Assist marketing &amp; business development with the creation and submission of project proposals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Specifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 years minimum experience in preconstruction or estimating (preferred but not required)<\/li>\n<li>Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products<\/li>\n<li>Broad understanding of industry<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong math\/analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to meet critical deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Must be dependable<\/li>\n<li>Perseveres through challenges<\/li>\n<li>Flexible interpersonal skills to work with all levels of management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preconstruction standards &amp; procedures<\/li>\n<li>Subcontractor database organization and updating<\/li>\n<li>Project solicitation creation, issuance, maintenance, and updating<\/li>\n<li>Preconstruction specific software<\/li>\n<li>Subcontractor bid pricing review and comprehension<\/li>\n<li>General knowledge of building practices, systems, and assemblies<\/li>\n<li>Estimate set-up and organization<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Project Management<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office Suite<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.<\/li>\n<li>Person in this position needs to be able to move about a job site location and inside the office.<\/li>\n<li>Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with other employees.<\/li>\n<li>Employee must occasionally lift and\/or move up to 25 pounds.<\/li>\n<li>Exposed to outdoor weather conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nBenefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>401(k)<\/li>\n<li>401(k) matching<\/li>\n<li>AD&amp;D insurance<\/li>\n<li>Dental insurance<\/li>\n<li>Disability insurance<\/li>\n<li>Health insurance<\/li>\n<li>Life insurance<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for advancement<\/li>\n<li>Paid time off<\/li>\n<li>Referral program<\/li>\n<li>Vision insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live-davie-construction.pantheonsite.io\/online-employment-application\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2571 size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/live-davie-construction.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Apply-Now-300x56.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"56\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davieconstruction.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Apply-Now-300x56.jpg 300w, https:\/\/davieconstruction.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Apply-Now-768x144.jpg 768w, https:\/\/davieconstruction.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Apply-Now-200x38.jpg 200w, https:\/\/davieconstruction.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Apply-Now.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pre-Construction Project Engineer Job Type: Full-time Summary The Preconstruction Engineer\u2019s role is to assist the Estimator, Project Manager, and other operations staff members with preconstruction pursuits from lump-sum hard bids to preliminary CM at Risk budgets.
