They signify growth, success and a commitment to building our community,\u201d said Chamber of Commerce President Carolyn McManamy.<\/p>\n<p>The Davie County Chamber recently recognized Davie Construction Co. as Business of the Year 2016, lauding President and CEO Carl V. Carney for his leadership role over the past 23 years in promoting the importance of enthusiastic community involvement to his 40+ employees. \u201cCarl is an honest, outgoing, dedicated and true family man. He has been married to his college sweetheart for 25 years, and together they have four children. He is deeply devoted to the prosperity of his community and serves and supports numerous teams, nonprofits and community initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The focus on community involvement permeates the culture at Davie Construction Co., where all employees are encouraged to become involved in the Chamber and to take leadership roles in organizations throughout the community. Brad Chapman, Executive Vice President of Preconstruction Services, will serve as Chairman of the Board of the Chamber in 2018. Davie Construction Co. employees serve or have served in organizations including the Davie County Community Foundation, Davie County Little League, Hillsdale Souper 5-K, War Eagle Booster Club, Lions Club, Davie Fast Break Youth Basketball, The Dragon Fly House, Store House for Jesus, Ellis Middle School, Davie County Young Life, and the Chamber Pro-Scramble Golf Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are honored to be recognized by the business community of Davie County. This award means a great deal to the 46 employees of Davie Construction Co., many of whom live in Davie County,\u201d said Carney. \u201cThe Chamber has done a tremendous job of working with county officials to transform our business community into a vibrant place to live and do business during the worst economic times any of us in business have ever experienced. Carolyn McManamy and her Board are a force for increasing the opportunities for Davie County businesses to thrive and prosper. They work tirelessly to attract and retain businesses to our county and to foster collaborative events that encourage local businesses to get to know one another and to do business together. I am not from Davie County and did not know a lot of the other business people in the community when I moved here in 2000. The relationships my management team and I have fostered through the Chamber, and other community organizations have afforded us the opportunity to do business with dozens of Davie County companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDavie Construction Co. is a perfect example of how involvement in the Chamber reaps benefits across the board,\u201d said McManamy, \u201cChamber members who are actively involved become ambassadors for our County, attracting more successful business leaders and increasing the potential for all to develop more business and to achieve objectives for growth.\u201d Carney agreed, \u201cThe best part of doing business in Davie County is the exposure\/interconnectivity you can achieve with other companies in the County. We have had the privilege to build for dozens of our business friends in the community and have forged many long-term relationships with subcontractors and suppliers with whom we successfully partner on projects of all sizes.
